Sleep is becoming increasingly difficult or non-existent.
Your mind feels like it is going a million miles an hour – never shutting off to allow you rest. If it’s not worrying about tomorrow or the future that keeps you awake, it’s repeating the day’s events on a loop – making it seem impossible to “turn off.”
You find yourself second-guessing every interaction from the day before and replaying what you perceive as mistakes. The rumination on things you “should’ve” done differently over the past days, weeks, and years keeps you feeling like a failure.
When you wake up in the morning, you feel unrested and question how you will make it through another day. The idea of pulling up the covers and shutting out the world seems more and more enticing.
Hopelessness and exhaustion have crept in and made everything feel more difficult, only to be reinforced by the relentless voice of self-criticism.
Something is wrong – but what?
Terms like “anxiety” and “depression” may be challenging to identify, but you know something is wrong.
Whatever the problem, you don’t feel like your usual self.
You feel stuck in a never-ending cycle of self-doubt and hopelessness.
Depression impacts everyone differently.
For some people, depression looks like pushing through day-to-day life, but that push is indeed just that – a push. You might be meeting your responsibilities, but everything feels increasingly more challenging, less joyful, and grueling.
While oscillating between overwhelming, racing thoughts and exhaustion, it isn’t easy to describe how you feel. You fear loved ones won’t get it or will see you as weak or needy.
Many of my clients did not learn how to express their needs or regulate their emotions growing up. They spent years shoving down difficult emotions, smiling, and focusing on productivity.
This method worked for a while – until it didn’t. Unfortunately, stuffing those emotions makes you feel more overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself and others.
You deserve to feel grounded, content, and calm.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to feel like yourself again? Therapy can help you overcome the crippling effects of anxiety and depression by giving you the space to slow down and heal.
Here with me, you will gain awareness to identify the things that impact your mood and tools to alleviate the suffering you keep experiencing.
You will learn to listen to your brain and body and utilize both for healing. Paying attention to your brain and body is one of the most important things you will ever do. It is time to improve your self-esteem, gain control of your emotions, and become more present.
Anxiety and depression do not have to control your life any longer, and I will be here every step of the way.
